The first ten days

It is hard to imagine that John Micah Robison (Micah) is already ten days old. It has been a rough ten days.
Day one started off with the birth of Micah and the passing away of his mother and my wife Kathy. She held on to life long enough to have the emergency c-section. She left knowing that I would take care of this wonderful gift.
The next six days were filled with visits to the NICU and funeral arrangements. Micah was blessed to have been born into such a big group of family and friends. From the moment of his birth through this entire ordeal people have done everything in their power to help Micah and myself. He is going to need as much help as possible with a dad like me.
We are now on our 3 day at home. Feeding, changing, burping, and sleeping our way through the day. Kathy's sister and brother in law have been here all the way, making sure Micah and I are OK. A lot of family and friends have come by to check up too.
Micah has started to show a little of his personality. He is a laid back baby, never really fussy, unless it is past feeding time and his daddy isn't quick enough. He likes to get out of being wrapped up in a blanket and is interested in what is going on around him. He is the cutest baby I have seen but I am probably a little biased.

He is such a blessing. He is only fussy when he is hungry (just like his dad)! I want to hold him and watch him as much as I can. I have learned to bring a change of clothes! He will watch things and listen to people, especially Nathan, so intently. He is very smart as well as beautiful. I am so glad he is my grandson.

Little Micah is the best-behaved 12-day-old boy we know. It has been such a blessing to spend time with him and his Daddy lately. Hopefully he'll continue his good behavior this Friday night when Uncle Mark & Aunt Janet give Nathan the night off. Uncle Mark is a bit nervous about those roly-poly poopies. Of course, that trick just makes Aunt Janet laugh. Speaking of tricks, another little-know fact about Baby Micah is that he has the ability to do "Jedi mind tricks". What a remarkable nephew!

Micah is such a precious baby.We are all amazed in what is already doing and his personality is showing in his expressions. I know you are going to be a wonderful daddy Nathan and Kathy would be so proud of you. I know Micah loves you the way is always listening for you and looking for you. I will do my best to be a grandma that Micah will appreciate and love. Grandma Linda

Micah - you are a beautiful baby and we can't wait to meet you!

Nathan - I remember the first time I saw you, you weren't much older than Micah, and I was so excited to be an Aunt for the first time. You have always held a special place in my heart, and I can't believe you are a daddy -- I know that you will be the BEST! The most important thing is to just hold him, kiss him & LOVE him, the rest all falls into place.

Until we can get down to see you all (or Ya'll) you will be in our prayers! With love, Aunt Roxan, Uncle Kevin & Brittney
